SPINE CHART
Please use the chart above as a standard basis for choosing the correct spine arrow for your set-up.There are a lot of factors that play into choosing the correct arrow shaft and being able to get maximum performance from the shaft. Important key items to keep in mind are:
-
Arrow spine is derived at a standard arrow length of 28".The shorter the arrow shaft is cut, the spine will get stiffer than printed on the shaft. The longer the shaft is left the spine will be weaker than printed on the shaft. Keep in mind we are talking arrow length, not draw length.
-
Point weight also affects arrows spine. Standards in chart above are based on 100 grain points. Points over 100 grains, will weaken the spine more. Points less than 100 grains, will stiffen the spine more.
-
Incorrect arrow spine can lead to injury or death. Weakening an arrow too much will cause breakage. Always error on the stiffer side if "on the line" or unsure.
-
Please see our "Safety Information" for additional care and warnings regarding our carbon arrows.
-
Accolade Arrows recommends weighing your completed arrows before firing them from your bow to ensure they a MINIMUM of 5 grains per pound of draw weight.
